After serving the county for a number of years in many guises,
it gives me great pleasure to write this foreword as President for 2010.
It has been 49 years since a member of Corby Forest was elected President of the NBA
and I would like to thank the club for their backing and support. I look forward to seeing
the County Finals take place there and taking representative teams to the club, who
celebrate their 60th Anniversary this season.
I feel that the County is very close to Middleton Cup success – with the guidance of our team manager,
John Church, and the talented players at his disposal, I am sure that Northamptonshire will
be pushing for National honours.
Over the coming months the County will be going through a transitional period,
working towards Unification with the Ladies in January 2012. In heading to a
unified “Bowls Northamptonshire”, I would like to thank all members of both
Associations involved in the planning so far.
This year I have chosen to raise funds for the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
It is a very worthwhile cause and I look forward to presenting them with a cheque at our Annual Dinner
in October.
On behalf of our Executive and all our members, I must congratulate Stuart Lake on his elevation
to Junior Vice President of Bowls England, and to Geoff Hunt who is now Vice-President of the
Midland Counties Bowls Association. I wish both of you enjoyment and success when your year as
President arrives.
In closing I would like to wish all members of the NBA a successful and enjoyable season,
and look forward to meeting many of you during my term in office.
