Whilst I am again honoured to have been elected as the Chairman of
the Association for a second consecutive year, it is tinged with a
certain amount of disappointment in that my re-election is entirely
due to a lack of other candidates - the Association has no Senior
Vice or indeed Junior Vice Chairman for 2008. However, I look forward
to another year in office during which I shall one more endeavour,
along with my committee and members, to maintain the excellent reputation
and standards our Association has achieved over the years.
Thank you all, including my own club, Earls Barton for your support
in re-electing me as your Chairman.
The Association continues to play a full program of matches throughout
the year, despite the ever increasing difficulties in raising teams
and as referred to in my last year's message, it is vitally important,
that we continue to make a conscious effort to recruit more playing
members and those of you that have never played for us together with
those that haven't played for a long time should try and make themselves
available otherwise, considering the current rate of decline in membership
and lack of members prepared to take office within the Association
the future looks decidedly bleak.
The Association will always strive to promote good, competitive and
enjoyable bowling at an affordable cost, with the emphasis on friendship
both on and off the green - long may that continue.
Finally gentlemen, it only remains for me to wish you all good health,
happiness and an enjoyable years bowling - I look forward to meeting
you all on the green during the year ahead.
